FAQ

It’s okay. From time to time, we all have questions.

My name is Zachary Ellison, and I’ve been part of the Laravel community since the early days of version 3. I’ve contributed to core, spoken at every single Laracon conference, am a co-host of the Laravel podcast, created popular packages, written countless tutorials, recorded courses for Tuts+, and have even written a popular book, called Laravel Testing Decoded. Additionally, I’ve contributed (often, in some cases) to the two most popular web development print magazines in the world: .Net and Web Designer.

Most importantly, though, I know how to explain complicated subjects. I’ve spent many years learning how to do this. It’s not easy, but, if you’re struggling, I can help better than anyone.

Of course! Truthfully, I’d love for all of the content to be free; however, the time investment (and infrastructure cost) is considerable. A small monthly fee allows me to dedicate as much energy as possible into providing the best PHP and Laravel content on the web.
Typically, every single work day! Try to check the site at least once each work-day to find new content. You may view a chronological list of videos here.
For various reasons, Paypal is not a supported option at Laracasts currently. However, if it turns out that Paypal is the only way for you to sign up, I will manually accept payments with this method at 1-year intervals. See here, if you’d like to arrange this.
Absolutely! Laracasts would be a fantastic investment for your development team. You may view the business/group rates here.
Thanks! Laracasts is a different kind of site. Most companies spend thousands on marketing to tell the world about their products. Laracasts spends zero; we rely entirely on word of mouth. If you enjoy the site, please tell your friends. Send an email, or tweet out a link to the site. I promise it helps!
Of course. Once logged in, you may upgrade your account here.
My goodness, yes! Modern PHP techniques are laced throughout all lessons. In fact, plenty of the episodes focus exclusively on particular principles and tricks.
Laracasts follows a subscription model. $15 a month gives you access to the entire catalog of videos, as well as all new content that is released each month.
First, I hope we’re talking about the original, and not the terrible remake. The answer, I believe, is yes. When Quaid goes to Recall, one of the doctors makes reference to “blue sky on Mars.” That’s the first hint. I also remember reading something about how, at the very end, when the video fades to black, that’s supposed to signal Quaid being lobotomized.

Remember that nasty doctor who visits Quaid at the Hilton on Mars? Watch the movie again, but with the assumption that everything he says is true.
